Impressions of China in Black and White
One of the most meaningful months of my life was June 2005, which I spent traveling across and around China with a group of fellow educators, funded by a Fulbright-Hays Grant to study the effect of government development policies on China's ethnic minorities in the western provinces. You will see many albums here from that trip; this album is special because I isolated the images that I found most striking that lended themselves to a monochrome treatment. I intentionally tinted them a bit to give them a patina of archival photographs to accentuate the timelessness of their subject matter.
