Black and White Portfolio
Black and white photography was my first love, and today some of my very favorite images are the ones whose lighting and shadows, textures and tonal ranges call out to be monochrome. There was a day, before digital cameras, when I carried two cameras--one loaded with color and the other with B&W film. Today, I just carry one camera, and sometimes I shoot them on a black-and-white setting; other times, when I'm post-processing, I just decide that the image is much more compelling when I pull the colors out of it and leave it with its marvelous monochrome tones. You will find more B&W throughout the galleries, but these are some of my favorites gathered for this portfolio. Also be sure to visit my gallery "Impressions of China in Black and White."
